The birth place of the United States of America - Philadelphia 費城(美國的誕生地)

Speaking of Philadelphia, there is a story you can never forget. The story is about the birth of the United States of America. We were born equally with the rights to education and the rights of election, so it's probably not easy for us to imagine how precious it could be to live in a nation with republic and democracy. I admit I had been one of those who don't aware the meaning of it till I was right in front of the building, the Independence Hall, which was the exact place The Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were signed at. These two important documents led the United States and the world to a totally different direction.

Independence Hall

For me, the most impressive story about the independence and the development of democracy of the United States is the one about George Washington, the first president of the new born nation in 18th century, which is about how George Washington just simply left his position and couldn't wait to go home after 8 years of his presidency. It might be with no doubt for the presidents nowadays, but I believe the situation was completely different at that time since people had not been educated how and what democracy could be and the systems and the laws were not complete yet. In that case, George Washington could probably try to be president as long as he wanted, but he didn't. He just left and didn't interfere the operation of the new government or try to influence his followers in a bad way.
